There are numerous reasons that lead people to buy LED bulbs. They consume a far lower wattage and last much, much longer. These can be retrofitted into fixtures originally made for traditional halogen bulbs, eliminating the need for the replacement of the fitting. Unlike CFL, they do not contain Mercury which is a hazardous chemical. Another main reason people are now more likely to buy LED bulbs is that they are far superior in terms of energy efficiency as they provide more light per watt consumed and very little heat. They are also available in multiple colours for different mood settings. Choosing the Right LED Bulb There are some important factors to consider for a person looking to buy LED bulbs. Colour Temperature: Colour temperature is the shade or colour of the light that you get from the bulb. It is measured in K (Kelvins). The higher the colour temperature, the whiter the light will appear. LEDs in the range of 2700K to 3000K gives a warm white glow while those over 4000K move towards a cooler, whiter colour. Lumens: Another factor to think about when shopping for LED bulbs is the Lumen rating. The Lumen rating is the amount of light that an LED bulb produces per watt. The higher the amount Lumens, the more light the bulb produces. Different manufacturers can have slightly different lumens ratings for LED bulbs with the same wattage. A person may choose a bulb with a Colour Temperature and Lumens Rating that fits their needs perfectly. Spotlighting with LED Bulbs The traditional spotlight halogen lamps that consume excessive amounts of power and often have a very short lifespan can be easily replaced by GU10 LED light bulbs. These are specifically made to last longer, shine brighter and consume much less power in comparison to Halogen bulbs. They are available in both dimmable and non-dimmable bulb options as well as different light colours. All of these GU10 Led Light Bulbs can be used without installation of any transformers on the regular 240-volt grid unlike the 12-volt MR16 bulbs traditionally used for spotlights. The dimmable GU10 bulbs can be controlled to alter the lighting, dimming or brightening depending on your mood and choosing, as well as their intended purpose – but they will require a controller. If you are switching from halogen and want a like for like feel then opt for low Kelvin rated bulbs with a warm colour rating. For a brighter and whiter light, go with GU10 LED light bulbs of a higher Kelvin scale rating. The huge range of GU10 LED bulbs available makes them viable for a diverse range of applications that includes homes, offices and commercial establishments, gardens and parks, resorts and art galleries. Already have existing halogen fixtures? No problem, there are many GU10 LED Light bulbs the exact same size as that of traditional halogen bulbs, making them simple and easy to install.
